First Visit (Complimentary)

On your first visit Ms. Chauvin will carefully explain the differences between Electrolysis and Laser Hair Removal. She will ask you many questions and take a complete medical health history. She will evaluate and determine the causes of the excessive hair growth and, if necessary, refer you to a physician for further examination and evaluation. Any sudden onset of hair growth should be investigated promptly by a doctor.

The area to be treated is photographed prior to treatment in order to record the color, coarseness, and density of the hair and the skin condition. This will also document any abnormalities present and to check the future progress of the treatment. In addition, the density rating of the hair is checked by counting each hair within a one square centimeter area marked off on the skin.

A test spot with either electrolysis and or laser will be done to determine which procedure is best for you. In this way we can make specific recommendations to optimize treatment for each individual, adjust key parameters, and develop a course of action to provide our patients with realistic expectations and quality service. It is vital to have a full understanding of what results can honestly be expected and achieved.

Prior to the first visit the patient should refrain from tweezing, waxing or the use of depilatories in order to enable a full evaluation of the problem. (Tweezed or waxed hairs take as long as three to six weeks to regrow.) Shaving is permitted.
